It’s fair to say that in the past ten years, marketing has had to evolve like never before. Consumers are savvier than ever, and increasingly becoming immune to standard advertising. That’s not to say that online marketing doesn’t work - it does - it’s just that today’s consumers are actively avoiding spammy content, and instead are drawn to more organic marketing processes when making a choice on which product or service to buy, and where to buy from.

Of course, this begs the question, how does a business get creative in order to create conversions? In this blog, we’ll take a look at ways in which you can be innovative when it comes to attracting the right kind of attention from your prospects.

1) Get subliminal!

The placement of your call to action has a huge effect on the number of click-throughs and leads your content will generate. It might seem somewhat superfluous, but the research doesn’t lie – when fast-reading or ‘scanning’ information, the majority of people begin taking in content from the top-left of a page. From here, the eyes move in an ‘F’ shape of sorts. For you, this means putting your call to action or “buy now” towards the top left of the page in order to attract as much attention as possible.

2) Be careful with your pop-up forms

Pop-ups are a tricky one – they’re designed to enhance the experience of the user, but when used incorrectly, they end up disrupting it. Pop-up forms should only offer meaningful, valuable and relevant content to people visiting the page they appear on – they’re perfect for special offers and upselling in certain circumstances, provided they aren’t intrusive to the point where they’re taking over the page and covering up important content.

3) Consider a press release

Got an unmissable 2-for-1 offer running for a month? Why not put out a press release to relevant trade publications and local/national media? Or better still, put it out using a wire service. It works in a couple of ways: firstly by drawing organic attention to your offer, and secondly by creating valuable backlinks to your site.
